What to Expect

I create a safe and nurturing environment and am very sensitive to the needs and wants of each person. In this way each individual’s treatment plan is unique. I will spend time getting to know you and your particular issue, before I decide what course of treatment will be best suited to your particular needs. I incorporate many different modalities into the way that I work with people. Communication is critical at every stage.

I look forward to working with you!

On the Day of Your Treatment

1. Food and Drink:

Massage: please don’t eat or consume alcohol at least two hours before a treatment.

Acupuncture: make sure not to come to an appointment on an empty stomach but avoid large meals. Don’t consume alcohol on the day of your treatment.

2. Exercise: Try not to over-exercise before or after treatment.

3. Prescriptions: Continue to take any prescription medicines as directed by your regular doctor.

4. Substance use (drugs and alcohol) especially in the week prior to treatment may seriously interfere with the effectiveness of acupuncture treatments.

5. After treatment:

If possible, plan your activities so that after the treatment you can get some rest. This is especially important for the first few visits.

Be sure to drink plenty of water and stay warm after the treatment.

Remember to keep good mental or written notes of your response to the treatment. This will help inform follow-up treatments.
